City official reveals shocking video after federal agents leave child on street

A startling situation reportedly unfolded on a quiet street.
Video footage is sparking questions after federal agents were involved in an incident that left a young person without direct supervision.
Incident During Immigration Enforcement
The events occurred during a federal immigration operation in Waltham, Massachusetts, earlier this month.
City official Colleen Bradley-MacArthur shared a video with Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra, claiming it showed officers leaving a child on a sidewalk after arresting an adult.
Bradley-MacArthur stated she recorded the video while participating in a neighborhood watch walk.

According to her account, masked officers had blocked the road with several vehicles during the operation.
She inquired about the agency involved, and was reportedly told to stand back and not interfere.
Bradley-MacArthur said she maintained her distance while continuing to record.

Neighborhood Watch Responds
The city councilor claimed the federal officers departed without ensuring the child got home safely.
Instead, she said other neighborhood watch volunteers accompanying her took it upon themselves to walk the child home.
I couldn't believe that they would just leave someone there," she is quoted as saying. "The masks, right—that's so frightening to see masked men blocking the road, with the lights and the sirens.

Context of Increased Enforcement
Waltham has recently seen an increase in federal immigration enforcement operations.
Just days before this incident, ICE agents apprehended two men in the same city.

A video from that event, filmed by a bystander, reportedly showed agents breaking a vehicle window during the arrest after the individuals appeared to disregard commands.
Additionally, an incident in nearby Worcester saw federal agents and local law enforcement interacting with residents during an attempted detention, which included some physical altercations according to reports.

These actions are part of broader efforts under the current administration to enforce immigration laws and remove individuals residing in the country illegally, consistent with stated policy goals.
Authorities Provide Their Account
However, federal authorities have offered a different perspective on the Waltham incident involving the child.
In a statement addressing the situation, Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin provided details from the agency's side.
McLaughlin confirmed that ICE officers conducted a vehicle stop and encountered an adult male driver and a 13-year-old passenger.
She noted that the adult taken into custody was identified as an "illegal alien" and was not the minor's parent.

Crucially, the statement added that ICE officers assisted the 13-year-old in contacting a parent.
According to McLaughlin, the parent was informed of the situation and the child's location.
The parent then reportedly declined to come and pick up their son.
The statement clarifies that the parent confirmed their residence was nearby and elected for the child to walk home, citing it was within a short walking distance.
This account from DHS presents the agency's actions as facilitating contact with a parent who subsequently made arrangements for the child.
The situation highlights the complexities that can arise during immigration enforcement activities.
